Instant Cytron was formed in 1993 by
Kataoka Tomoko and
Nagase Gorou. They released two four-song mini-albums under an independent label before transferring to
Toshiba EMI in June 1995. In the same year, they released their album
Change This World, which featured unconventional arrangements accompanied by intensive strings and horns. From 1997 to 2002, Instant Cytron released four more studio albums and factually ceased activity as a unit after 2006. In 2020, Kataoka passed away.
