Quests in Divinity Original Sin 2 (DOS 2) are essentially tasks or missions that players need to complete. They can range from simple objectives, like retrieving an item or defeating an enemy, to complex multistep stories that involve exploring the world, solving puzzles, interacting with NPCs, making moral decisions, and uncovering hidden secrets. Quests are often presented through dialogue with NPCs, environmental clues, or as part of the main narrative progression.
As is the case with most, RPGs or Role-playing games, Divinity Original Sin 2 divides quest by their types.
These are the central pillars of the game's narrative, driving the overarching story forward. They are critical to progressing through the game and often involve major plot points that will shape the fate of Rivellon. Completing these quests is necessary to reach the game's conclusion.
These are optional but highly recommended quests that can enhance your understanding of the world. They frequently involve exploring hidden areas, solving puzzles, or interacting with NPCs in meaningful ways. Side quests can provide valuable rewards and additional character development opportunities.
These quests are personal to the characters in your party. Each Companion has their own storyline that players can explore. These Quests reveal deeper aspects of their backgrounds, motivations, and the choices that shape their character arcs. Completing these quests often results in character loyalty and powerful rewards, sometimes even new abilities.
Note that Act 3 - I, the Godwoken and Act 7 - To be Divine do not have any side quests, hence why they are not detailed in the following list.
Where is Act III.?

-1Got a quest on Reapers Cove called "Deathfog Rising" with a single entry:
"
* Journy to Arx
In Arx, we'll find Micheil Ros at his daughter's wedding. He may be able to help us stop the Queen's Deathfog plot.
"
Haven't been to Arx yet but I can't see the quest here.

-1New players: You need Summoning with at least two players, as you're always out-numbered, and since you're also frequently with a low-ground penalty for enemies on ledges and cliffs above you, Wings is a must since it helps get to hard places to reach too. The other essential for every character to have is Teleport, you can move foes far away for a breather or to get them stuck somewhere out of reach, as well as bringing ranged characters into melee range to clobber, and grabbing many things out of reach. Of which there is a lot. Good luck!

-1The Merryweather also has "Death Belowdecks". I know it's a dumb and self solving one but it isn't listed.

-1I can't find any information in this Wiki on the Quest "THE MERCHANT" given by the spirit of Baran Levere when you use "Spirit vision" in the Tavan close to the two chests.

-1I found a few quests that aren't on this guide. All the quest you get from the Abandoned Livewood Sawmill. If you use Spirit Vision you can talk with the ghost there and complete some quests for them.
An Eye for an Eye - Spirit of elderly mage - wants revenge
Bitter Tonic - Spirit of Black Widowmaker - wants revenge
Old Flames - Spirit of Edie Engrym - wants her killer to say her name
The Bark's Bite - The Log on the saw mill - wants revenge
