"Two very honest and dedicated leaders—Dr Manmohan Singh and Mrs Sheila Dixit—were falsely accused… The truth of 2G has already come out in the court" said Jairam Ramesh
Khurshid, who met the PCC members here, said due to the issue, India lost its robust growth story and its surging economy and reiterated his party's demand for an unconditional apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rai.
In its appeal against Special Judge O P Saini's December 21, 2017 verdict acquitting the accused of all charges, the CBI said, "Set side the judgement of the Special Judge and convict the accused and sentence them as per law".
The CBI had alleged that there was a loss of Rs 30,984 crore to the exchequer in allocation of licences for 2G spectrum which were scrapped by the top court on February 2, 2012.
On December 21 last year, the special CBI court presided over by judge O P Saini had acquitted all 17 accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case, including former telecom minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi.
Behura joined Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in Ministry of Communications & Information Technology as Secretary (Telecom) on Jan 1, 2008, almost eight months after A Raja took over as Telecom minister.
Quoting certain observations made by the special judge in the verdict, Stalin said it showed the case was "fabricated with an aim of targeting and sidelining DMK" at the national level.
