Merl was the official mascot character of Minecraft Earth. Her constant companion found loyally by her side is Peanut Butter, which is found only in Minecraft Earth.

Merl appears mostly with her dyed cat, Peanut Butter, in various promotional material.

• Merl’s skin seemed to be inspired by a Discord profile picture of the developer, Ledski.^{[citation needed]}
  • It was revealed that the cat in the profile picture had the initials of PB.^[1]
• Merl’s name stands for "Minecraft In Real Life", which is explained to have been Minecraft Earth’s working title.^[2] However, it is likely a backronym.^[dubious]
