Incorrectly placed video

[edit source]
Latest comment: 20 June 20152 comments2 people in discussion

The first video does not belong on this article, as it is about the item, and this article is about the mob. Can an administrator remove it? KnightMiner t/c 20:27, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Done. The item video is now at [[Raw Chicken/video]]. — Orthotopetalk 01:01, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Chicken Jockey?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 17 October 20173 comments2 people in discussion

Wouldn't it be worth mentioning that Chickens can spawn as a part of Chicken Jockeys in the Spawning section of this page? -75.179.18.235 21:30, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Anyone? -75.179.18.235 21:15, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Chicken Jockey spawning is not handled by the chickens. It's handled when a baby zombie spawns. --Pepijn (talk) 23:03, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Chickens in Nether?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 28 September 20203 comments3 people in discussion

I just got a chicken in the Nether, all on its own, no baby/pygmy zombie pigman on it. Is this supposed to happen? Vanilla 1.12.2.

What probably happened was, a pigman jockey spawned, but the baby zombie pigman despawned, leaving just the chicken. -75.179.18.235 23:06, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

Or it was dumb enough to walk into the portal, which wouldn’t surprise me or honestly anyone. TBFTE123 (talk) 21:21, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

I made a meme about this problem earlier. Why does this happen? I'd strangle a chicken in-game and interrogate it about this evil magic if I could. But, that can't happen. That's why I'm typing this here.--Anothersrpelofan (talk) 17:01, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Don’t spam click, there’s an “attack speed” for a reason. FVbico (talk) 17:57, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

Java Edition Foxes

[edit source]
Latest comment: 5 September 20191 comment1 person in discussion

Shouldn't there be a section in the history on the Java edition foxes where they kill chickens, Bedrock history is up to date. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Goldenghost1000‎ (talkcontribs) at 14:24, 5 September 2019‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Chickens dissapear right after i breed them

[edit source]
Latest comment: 16 January 20201 comment1 person in discussion

they have enough space, i made sure theres no walls next to them, and they clearly dont look like any suffocation is happening but for some reason i can only have like 8 chickens in my 5 by 5 coop at a time or something bc every time i breed them some of the adults just dissapear. Also i have an egg farm but they make eggs very slowwwly probably due to the fact all my adult chickens keep dying. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 73.155.108.166 (talk) at 16:52, 16 January 2020‎ (UTC). Chicken fly height?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 29 August 20251 comment1 person in discussion

I know chickens will get over a fence (1.5 blocks) if they really want to, i.e. if you are holding seeds on the other side of the fence. I am not sure whether it is technically them flying or just jumping and then jumping again off one another (since they have the lower fall speed). Does anyone know what is the maximum height they will fly/jump over?

Missing proper biome

[edit source]
Latest comment: 14 April2 comments1 person in discussion

How did they forget adding cherry_grove biome?

Spawning\Variants\Natural Spawning\Temperate QuocTuGiam (talk) 01:01, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

Sorry for my unclearly previous comment.
The correct place (path) is: Spawning\Variants\Other.
It's better to add a temperate variant column for the chicken which is spawned in cherry grove biome. QuocTuGiam (talk) 04:12, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

Chicken Limit on Nintendo Switch Edition

[edit source]
Latest comment: 9 June1 comment1 person in discussion

Playing the old Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition (pre-1.13), I was breeding chickens until a message appeared: "This animal cannot enter Love mode. The chicken breeding limit has been reached." (translated from spanish: "Este animal no puede entrar en modo Amor. Se ha alcanzado el límite de cría de gallinas.") The chickens can still lay eggs that can then be thrown to spawn chicks (if the limit is gone, otherwise they don't work), but they can't be bred normally.
