How exactly does the eyeblossom's communication feature work?

[edit source]

How would you know if it's communicating or opening by itself? TheAxolotlLord (talk) 16:59, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

If a Eyeblossom opens around it it detects the opening and does the same, the exact mechanics of it I don’t now but I do beleave that the subtitles are different? REXTHEREBEL228 (talk) 20:42, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
maybe there isn’t a noticeable difference between a Eyeblossom detecting another and it opening on it’s own? REXTHEREBEL228 (talk) 20:45, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
I updated the article with technical details of how communicating works. Basically, when an eyeblossom receives a random tick, it checks to see if it should change state, depending on the time of day. If it should change, it does, and tells other eyeblossoms within 3 blocks horizontally and 2 blocks vertically to repeat the process of checking their state and checking for other nearby eyeblossoms. The first one to open is the one "opening by itself". Otherwise, I think they all emit the same particles and have the same sounds and subtitles. Rampage455 (talk) 23:49, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification Ranpage455! This could be useful in redstone mechanisms! REXTHEREBEL228 (talk) 16:54, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
I think they might be the new Daylight Detectors, like how Sculk Sensors are the new Observers. NC12 (talk) 14:25, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
Not exactly, as sculk sensors detect all kinds of sounds and obsevers only detecect block placement. CrockCraftMC (talk) 20:16, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

Higher Resolution Eyeblossom texture

Can someone make higher resolution open and closed eyeblossom (item) textures WearyEagle77054 (talk) 02:26, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

What is a higher resolution texture? REXTHEREBEL228 (talk) 14:05, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
It is already in the max resolution 16x16. Plus, the resolution is good enough in my opinion. See File:Invicon Closed Eyeblossom.png and File:Invicon Open Eyeblossom.png. - 👁 Image

When upscaled it gets blurry:

Set |class=pixel-image to prevent that:
[[File:Invicon Closed Eyeblossom.png|width=100|class=pixel-image]] produces

Usage in redstone

Does the eyeblossom need to be exposed to the sunlight like daylight sensors to work, or could this be used to make lights that don't need openings? 166.181.244.235 23:37, 6 September 2025 (UTC)

Eyeblossoms do not need to be exposed to the sky to open or close. You could use them for a redstone build that turns on lights at night automatically. The tradeoff for not needing sky exposure is that they're not a precise clock; they only open or close after receiving a random tick. Rampage455 (talk) 22:43, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
