Uh, didn't holding shift while jumping decrease the jump height? Creepergoboom64 22:31, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
Hey Creepergoboom, I think it'd be more helpful to have a general, comprehensive page at Player movement or similar title, so that we can go over all types of player movement including jumping. This article will remain permanently stubbed if we keep it here, since there just isn't enough information to have a sizable article on player jumping.-- M0rphzone(talk) 03:47, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was merge with Transportation.
I think this page should be merged with Transportation. 👁 Image

Jumping now has enough features to deserve its own article. Some are the mentioned on the "usage" section. So, this page need more work on it, to make it more precise. Supeika (talk) 13:00, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
Anyone think the preview image I put is fine as is? I also made another one:
Anyone feel the image above should be the preview image instead? --XZippy (talk) 01:20, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
I don't think the page needs updating, it just needs improvement. 1.17 snapshots have been added a few years ago and we shouldn't call that 'updating'. I will remove the banner, if this is wrong please reply to this comment. MinecraftExp123 (talk) 08:07, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
Honey blocks decrease jump height without Jump Boost by 85%. Is this amount applied multiplicatively to the jump height with any level of jump boost? And does it multiple jump height attribute as set by /attribute? --Simanelix (T|C) 13:55, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure most mobs have the same jump height as the player, including when under the Jump Boost effect or on honey blocks, but the page doesn't say this. --Simanelix (T|C) 13:55, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
The history section incorrectly reports the jump height increase. It went from ~1.249 to ~1.252. Furthermore, this is not a change in the jump mechanic but rather a change in the physics themselves: the player's momentum on an axis is no longer set to 0 when smaller than 0.005 blocks per tick, but when it's smaller that 0.003, causing the jump to peak slightly higher and later. The wording fails to convey that, for specific jump boost levels, this change can make the player land faster (counterintuitively, since the peak height can only increase). --Freiheit (talk) 12:45, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
