There have been some noticeable lack of mention of some blocks and items from this version for a long time. I decided to do some research into these myself after a few months of waiting for somebody else to do it. Here is what I have found related to MinecraftEdu. I don't really know how to make good pages, so I'll just mention them here. There may be some innaccuracies.
1.0~1.2
Desertification and Tropification are now only accessible with commands.
Previously, with Desertification enabled, under circumstances that I do not know, grass would turn to dry dirt, which would turn to sand.
With Tropification enabled, sand would turn to wet sand, it may turn to grass after. It takes a while, and I didn't wait that long.
I have seen a video of Desertification being showcased at some point. I can't find this again.
1.3
Desertification and Tropification commands removed.
For some reason, during this period, Wet sand was referred to as "Steppe dirt" and Dry dirt was referred to as "Steppe sand" in /give.
1.4
Wet sand and Dry dirt now have a blank name, with the uncoloured top grass texture and show up as โnull.nameโ through /give.
Quiz block is added. It doesn't seem to work very well.
In this version, getting any mcedu items through the give menu on the teacher menu does not work.
1.5.1
"null.name"'s texture is now the missing texture for this version, and it shows up in /give as "tile.ForgeFiller.name".
The strange jungle planks in terrain.png no longer exists, as terrain, png is removed.
1.5.2
Dry dirt and Wet sand readded, renamed "Steppe dirt" and "Steppe sand", respectively. The names are not in the same order as the old /give.
1.6
Quiz block, Steppe dirt and Steppe sand removed.
1.7
Overhaul of MinecraftEdu to support mods.
Language file no longer mentions "Infinite Dispenser".
In early versions of 1.6, the wrong server launcher was installed, so it could not be used.
1.7 or 1.8
Block inspector added.
None of the mentioned three missing blocks are available in the Creative menu, likely why they were left out of this page before. Doesnโt explain the block inspector though.
A strange jungle planks with vaguely human shaped cut out is present in terrain.png for older versions of MinecraftEdu.
In some older versions, the game can not make any sound.
Language file prior to 1.7 refers to an โInfinite Dispenserโ block. As far as I can find, this does not actually exist.
MinecraftEdu has unique splash text. I canโt find the file for this.
"Education mode" is gamemode 4. It is like survival, but with no health, hunger, XP, or oxygen in most cases. In some versions, it also means blocks do not deplete after use.
If anyone would like me to look into this further, or wants some information that I may already have, please let me know!
I know there is more to look into regarding "ComputerCraft". Zippee100 (talk) 00:15, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
I noticed that there isn't a page for ComputerCraftEDU and rather it just links to the website for the mod, rather then a wiki page
I get that it's technicaly a Mod but since it's pre-packages with MinecraftEDU I think it's important enough for a page here on the wiki 98.246.143.14 18:24, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
This article is missing information about well, something, but for some reason it hasn't been specified properly in the template
