Just fyi, as of v.1.0.2, shulker boxes cannot be crafted in the Windows 10 version of Minecraft. It so happens shulker boxes aren't one block with 16 data values, they're 16 separate blocks. So there's nothing to put. – Sealbudsman ^talk/_contr 14:45, 2 July 2017 (UTC)

The 1.2 update for PE/Win10 is adding 17th type of shulker box (named "Shulker Box", ID: undyed_shulker_box) which replaces the purple shulker box as the base type of box. The purple shulker box now uses the new color palette and is crafting using purple dye and any shulker box. I saw in a 'how to hide items' that if you stand on a shulker box that when it opens you can fall through it to the block below. Was used as hidden entrance.

There's a request in the Data History section for information on what shulker box colours corresponded to which numerical IDs in pre-1.13 versions.

According to F3 + H in 1.12.2, the IDs are as follows:

#0219: White Shulker Box

#0220: Orange Shulker Box

#0221: Magenta Shulker Box

#0222: Light Blue Shulker Box

#0223: Yellow Shulker Box

#0224: Lime Shulker Box

#0225: Pink Shulker Box

#0226: Gray Shulker Box

#0227: Light Gray Shulker Box

#0228: Cyan Shulker Box

#0229: Purple Shulker Box (undyed shulker boxes don't exist in this version)

#0230: Blue Shulker Box

#0231: Brown Shulker Box

#0232: Green Shulker Box

#0233: Red Shulker Box

#0234: Black Shulker Box

I saw something about the texture differences of the original purple shulker box (1.11 to 1.12) and the modern undyed shulker box (1.13 and after) on the main page.
