Hi! I'm Purple!

[edit | edit source]

Hello!! :D I'm Purple! (My old username was TheOneWhoAteTheCookies, but please don't refer to me by that name. ''=w=)

I'm a real-live catgirl scientist, who usually conducts her own research and scientific studies, so you'll tend to see me editing pages and commenting on talk pages. I've also recently acquired a particular interest in Minecraft as a whole, so I'm going to start making an effort to record the findings of my research here, by contributing to the wiki! ^w^

Pretty Purple Patterns!

In the event that my research is too specific or obscure for any "official" article, I'll record my findings on this userpage under "Userpage Studies" instead. And, since this is my own userpage, I can also record subjective advice, tips, tricks, and techniques that I learned during my studies, too! How neat! ^w^

Purple Stained Glass looks SO nice in-context. It's such a shame that the isometric renders don't do it justice...

Still jealous of Bedrock Edition for being able to have pretty purple Cauldrons...

Old Purple. Still Purple. Still Glorious.

If you're on this page because I goofed something up, then I'd like to emphasize something important: please be patient. I find the whole wiki layout very confusing and unintuitive, so I'm just generally a very clumsy editor. The information that I have is valuable to the wiki, no doubt; but simple stuff like formatting or vanity edits are where I usually fall short, and I'm sorry!! Just please be patient with me if anything I did needs to be sorted out. I know I said that twice, it really is that important. Thank you!

I also personally consider accessibility to be something that should be considered in every little thing, no matter how small! This extends to things like alt texts, of course; but also the subtler parts of accessibility, like phrasing yourself in a clear manner. Ambiguity is the enemy of both knowledge and accessibility, so I make a point to remove any ambiguities or small grammar errors wherever I see them. Even if small grammar errors are insignificant to most, if its enough to make me do a double-take while reading, its probably enough to warrant a fix. And besides, I enjoy fixing them! ^w^

That transitions nicely into the last bit of relevant information that I have: I'm a maid by heart and instinct, and I find patrolling the wiki to be very fulfilling maid work! So even if I'm not perfect, I'll still take the time to make sure I'm helping to make this place as spotless as it can be. ^w^

Personal Interests!

[edit | edit source]

This is my own userpage. A section like this feels fitting, no?

I'll just make it a vertical list, since I haven't quite figure out how to use userboxes yet... qwq

(I know bulletin and numbered lists exist, I just don't like formatting them :p)

-My favourite colour is PURPLE!! ...Could you tell?

-I enjoy both old and new versions of Minecraft!

-I started playing on the earliest Xbox 360 Edition versions of Minecraft, but have since moved onto preferring Java. No real gameplay reasons why, I just find that Java runs better than Bedrock on all my machines :p

-I tend to use emoticons a lot, in talk pages, userpages, and edit comments! I find that expressive typing is a fantastic aid in destroying ambiguities!! :D

-Oh, and on that note, I also very much appreciate edit comments. They're also an exceedingly useful tool. :3

-In Minecraft, I enjoy building, resource-gathering, farming, and developing efficient ways to complete semi-obscure tasks!! I do not like fighting. I do, however, enjoy scripting, be it with command blocks or in datapacks!

-When I develop almost anything, I tend to put in as many "bells and whistles" as possible. The little things, that serve as comfortable luxuries; especially when performing repetitive tasks! This reflects both in my in-game buildings, as well as my in-wiki edits. It's part of why I emphasize redirects! :3

-I prefer source editing over visual editing! Actually, I just generally prefer getting the most technical perspective of things overall :3 In fact, I'm writing this in the visual editor right now in an attempt to adjust myself to it!

-MY FAVOURITE COLOUR IS PURPLE!! Have I mentioned that yet? I love purple!! :D

-Linguistically, I use a mix of American English, British English, German, Canadian French, France French, and probably a few others that I'm forgetting. English isn't my first language, but as it stands, its the one I'm most familiar with right now. The other, non-English languages are ones that I've taken accents or singular words/phrases from (like "ach" from German!) I also type exactly as I talk IRL, so you'll probably be able to pick up on all of this if you're really looking for it UwU

- I don't like sand. ./reference

-This isn't really a personal interest, so much as it is an involuntary response, but - remember how I said I was a catgirl earlier? Yeahh... that's why you'll sometimes see "ny-" in place of "n-" in some words (i.e. "nyow" instead of "now"). I promise that I legitimately cannot help that, its an involuntary reaction!! And I sincerely apologize if that makes it into any of my edits!! ./serious ./genuine TwT

This list will probably be updated over time as I think of more relevant information to add! ^w^

Userpage Studies

[edit | edit source]

"Userpage Studies" are the studies that I've conducted that don't neatly fit into any existing pages.

Partially for the sake of having it written down somewhere on the internet, and partially as part of an ongoing experiment to determine the effects of publishing my work, I write these studies down here - for you to read and learn from! Enjoy!! ^w^ :D

Campfire/Fishing Interactions

[edit | edit source]

Originally, I had written all of this down on the Campfire wiki page... but since that got reverted, I'll re-purpose it here! ^w^:

Cooking with campfires has particular utility in fishing, where you can place fish on the campfire to be cooked as you catch them. Standing next to the campfire will allow you to collect the fish as soon as they are finished cooking, and the slower cooking time is less relevant because the rate at which you catch fish will never usually outpace the rate at which the fish are cooked. This strategy also allows you to cook both Salmon and Cod (the two cookable kinds of fish) simultaneously (which cannot be done with standard Furnaces or Smokers), with the additional benefit of not requiring any fuel. The campfire's usefulness in fishing is recognized in-game by Fisherman villagers selling them.

Infdev Item ID Masterlist

[edit | edit source]

Since I'm playing a lot of obscure and particular infdev versions, I've found that utilizing save file editing to conduct more technical experiments in lieu of Creative Mode, has been a very effective strategy! As such, I'm compiling a list of every item ID in Infdev as I go through the versions chronologically. You can find the item ID masterlists for every infdev version at User:PurpleIsBeautiful/Infdev Item ID Gallery! ^w^

Study currently ongoing, so expect some level of incompleteness!

////// This is a really, really, super-duper, extraordinarily long sentence to mark the end of the page for technical purposes! That's a funny word, isn't it? "Extraordinary"? It means "very out of the ordinary" when broken down into parts, of course, but it kind of reads as "extremely ordinary or usual". Isn't that weird? Anyways, this sentence is probably long enough nyow. Thank you! Nya! ^w^ //////
