Snow is supposed to fall when it rains, or when there is a thunderstorm. Technically, snowfall is not a kind of wheather, it's just a way that rain/thunderstorm operates in snow biomes, isn't it? People who claim that snow happens in non-snowy areas have probably generated their maps in older versions and seen the snow in newer version which had biome map rearranged? Thus I suggest merging/referring the page with rain, and/or clearification of these facts. – Unsigned comment added by 192.168.1.159 (talk). Please sign comments with ~~~~

So I was just wandering through my world and after I passed through a tundra/taiga biome, ice started spreading on all of the water I saw, and then it started snowing and raining in the desert and other biomes where it shouldn't snow. It doesn't seem to be worldwide either, I can go further into the desert and it seems normal. Has anything like this happened to anyone else?
I was messing around with the new spawner eggs and I noticed that Enderman also takes damage when it snows just like rain. Anyone else noticed that? Dsguy411 17:12, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
My friend makes world and he spawns to desert biome. 2 months ago, it becames taiga. REALLY! Now its full of snow cause snowrains and all water are on ice! Anyway, snowmans are damaged that indercrible area... -,-
That bug didn't fixed by versions. He got now v. 1.2.5 and desert is on the snow!

Can someone put snowfall on the plains biome. I love snow. Since Saturday 12/14/13, I went to Big Bear in San Bernardino California and I saw some snow. Can someone put snowfall???????????!!!!!
in the wiki is written, that the snowfall in e.g. stone shore starts always at 90 blocks, at least I understand it that way, if it's meant to mean, that slowfall begins to fall somewhere above 90, then propably we should change the grammar. I added a verify as I couldn't verfiy, for me, it always where different heights where snow begin to fall GuiTaek (talk) 13:33, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Bedrock Edition 1.21.100 may be an upcoming minor update, does it mean that the frozen ocean biome surface is no longer fully covered by ice and recevied patches of open water and the deep frozen ocean biome is no longer covered by ice and consisty entirely of open water. That way will match the Java Edition, but there was no planned release date. Seagrass no longer pokes through ice if generated in shallow water in all snowy biomes that have ice on the water's surface, including cold windswept biomes and the dripstone caves biome that may snow from y 120 and above and any taiga biomes that may snow from 160 or 200 and above. The stony shore biome that snows from y 118 and above was also included. Qitaoh (talk) 15:31, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
snowAccumulationHeight is outdated gamerule; new versions use max_snow_accumulation_height
This should be replaced with a list right? 'All snowy biomes' is extremely vague and doesn't correlate to a category on Biomes. FireDragons52 00:40, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
