Recipes that are only used in education edition should probably be given [Minecraft Education only] .jjlr (talk) 04:43, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
I guess by now but if this is a fact, it's worth mentioning: Torches have an indefinite lifetime right? That's pretty awesome and not what I would have expected.–Preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.102.175.60 (talk) at 10 July 2018 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
I am wondering if it is known if there is a limited number of torches? I have a lot of tunneling in my world and place a torch every 5 blocks. Today I came to a place that I have not explored for a long time and my torches were gone, including the ones I put in my stairways.–Preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.186.254.243 (talk) at 22 September 2018 (UTC). In the trivia section, this block of text exists:
This feature was briefly reintroduced on the April Fools' hoax version [[Java Edition 2,0|2,0]], but the feature was not kept in later versions.
Could you please fix it? This page is protected so I can't fix it. Because of this, the Java Edition 2,0 page appears here.--ManosSef (talk) 16:19, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
The recipe for soul torches alternates between coal and charcoal and between soul sand and soul soil, but it does that at the same time, so it just keeps switching back and forth between two recipes instead of all four possible ones. Fabian42 (talk) 12:39, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
I've seen this done in several youtube videos. Is this a mod, or some special trick? 90.191.78.174 15:03, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
As someone who likes playing with only crafting book recipes enabled, I've always found the torch unlock difficult to predict, and I'm surprised this isn't mentioned here on the wiki. 186.155.19.228 15:11, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
The image with the caption "Torches in various positions on chiseled stone bricks." isn't as helpful as say an image or diagram of a torch emitting light annotated with how far the light is emitting.
