Trailer, creator Hat Films' upload or shorter xbox channel's upload?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 16 June 20133 comments3 people in discussion

Both are official uploads. The Hat Films' upload contains an extra 28 seconds containing a typical YouTuber outro with promotional links. It's nice to direct views to Hat Films but the xbox channel's upload is much shorter. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 5ives (talkcontribs) 09:22, 11 June 2013‎ (UTC). Since the video is identical, and the outro is self-promotional advertising with no relevance to the article, I'd prefer to use the video without it. -- Orthotope talk 10:14, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Probably the Hat Films upload should be used as citation, but the other one should be used in-article, simply because the video was made by them, but the other is the official promotional one. Pokechu22 18:35, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Release date is set for September 5th, 2014. http://news.xbox.com/2014/09/games-minecraft-launch-on-xbox-one 108.8.123.100 14:44, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Does anyone know how the Xbox One version is going to handle skins? Are they going to keep making us pay for skins or give us the custom skin editor? Are our 360 Minecraft skins going to carry over?

I don't think there's any info on that yet but you could try tweeting @4JStudios.

Well at this moment some skins that we used to have to pay for are now free so maby in the future more will become free sarah 18:07, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

I downloaded it for Xbox One on September 4th in the evening (US). The "official" release date is apparently September 5th according to the Xbox store. Any reason why?--75.81.51.47 20:38, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Too late for the free copy

"it is preferable to buy the disc version of Xbox One Edition instead of buying the new Bedrock Edition, and do so before January 30, 2018."

Please update, the page doesn't allow anonymous edits. --74.10.152.193 18:25, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

I don't think that should be added. This is an encyclopedic article; it shouldn't contain advice or tutorial content. MarcelTheHippie (talkcontribslogsblock log) 🐷🥕☮️ 20:47, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

The version is not "officialy" discontinued

[edit source]
Latest comment: 22 June 20242 comments2 people in discussion

The only real mention of it being discontinued is release of bedrock edition, but they kept updating the game for a year and randomly stopped. But then a few months later, it got updated with the removal of the "FREE" button and the addition of some splashes, which was really random.– Unsigned comment added by AliveJy1 (talkcontribs) at 09:40, 24 December 2022 (UTC). I have a feeling they’ll update this game to 1.20 as some nostalgia Microsoft product announcement. Idk lol, just a thought 💭 Synther (talk) 11:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Disc vs Microsoft’s online version…

[edit source]
Latest comment: 24 June 20245 comments2 people in discussion

So I was going to add a section next to ‘size’ where it displays the.

I have the disc of this game, and when my box is offline It downloads the game from the disc like intended. However, when online, it downloads from Microsoft’s servers, which is the main version and which is in 1.? GB.

The actual disk size is, but this is an old build, which I’m not sure if I should add it or not, so here’s my topic.

Disk Size = 667.95 MB Synther (talk) 11:10, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

So you may have the original Xbox One disk! May I ask a question! I am trying to figure out what version it is when you install it offline.
I'll need the following.
1. The Xbox One Version number. You can get this by pressing the Home button when you hit the menu button press "Manage game and add-ons". You should see Version and a number next to it. If you see "Version 1.61.1924.0" you need to uninstall. If you see "Version 1.22.905.0" you have the Minecraft: Xbox One Favourites Pack like me.
2. Once you have the version number. Check CU1, CU3, and CU4 pages. See if you can work out the version. Hypothetically the Version number from 1 will tell us this, but never hurts to check.
Once 1 and 2 are checked. Then we can add the disk size to the wiki in a pretty detailed way. - CIA391 (talk) 10:26, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, I have the favourites pack,
Version 1.22.905.0 Synther (talk) 10:34, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
Ah thats unfortunate. The hunt goes on! As the original disk must be a different version meaning different details, filesize and so on. - CIA391 (talk) 11:05, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
to clarify, I skipped downloading of the texture / skin packs.
all I know is that there are two versions of Minecraft Xbox one edition.
- offhand
- No offhand
the one I have on disc, installing it offline, is no offhand. The one online install, offhand. Synther (talk) 11:56, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

How is it possible every version after CU1 and before CU57 is lost?

I do imagine this because look at the article about CU23, it's considered lost. Can the metadata on the Xbox Marketplace help? Or alternative way? SimpleMinecrafter-3h2 (talk) 02:59, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
