I'm aware of that. I changed the editcopy specifically so it could be copied directly to the main page. This is not an issue, since exactly the same method is used on templates to allow both the template's and its documentation's categories and interwiki links to be stored on its documentation page, allowing anyone to update both. When you edit the main page, you need to make sure to copy your edits over to the editcopy as well.
