I'm trying to figure out who plays console around here. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 21:31, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm still interested in knowing if you're a console player! – Sealbudsman talk/contr 01:20, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

I played until TU33/34 came out. I no longer play console now due to reasons. I only play the PC edition now. Delvin4519 () 16:23, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Your reasons check out. Thanks! – Sealbudsman talk/contr 18:01, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Are you planning on keeping this page accurate and up to date? There's quite a lot of information on the page regarding early versions that has since been proven incorrect and fixed elsewhere on the wiki, so it might be a good idea to fix such information on the page as well. - User-12316399 (talk) 22:19, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

Your recent edits favoring Java Edition

[edit source]
Latest comment: 28 August 20233 comments2 people in discussion

I've been noticing recently that you're making quite a lot of edits that include reordering of items to match their sequence in Java Creative inventory. I would ask you to stop doing that and to revert the reordering parts of your edits, as it directly violates a June, 2017 consensus that we should not give preference to one edition over another. The consensus was reached here.

The problem with putting these items into Java Creative order is that, without a consensus giving Java priority, somebody else (like me, for instance) can come right behind you and put them in Bedrock Creative order. The next thing you know, it's a contest, then an edit war, and somebody (actually, everybody who plays the losing edition) has to give way for no good reason. Besides, treating your preferred edition as exalted and everybody else's as subordinate is disrespectful. It's counter to universal wiki philosophy.

Of course, it may be that a superseding consensus later overrode the one I'm referring to; if so, I'd be grateful if you would please point me to it. But I really can't conceive of the Minecraft Wiki community agreeing to play favorites.

Whoops! I was reading too much into your edit summaries and not studying exactly what you were editing. It appears now that you only reordered information in History sections, which of course is inevitably edition-specific. Sorry! — Auldrick (talk · contribs) 02:02, 28 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Most items reordered concerns colored materials. Java and Bedrock share the same order in colored materials in almost all cases (in the case of bedrock, it is most likely a bug with dyes, banners, but thats about it, almost all colored items are ordered basically the same). The same goes for wood materials as well (the order is generally fixed across java and bedrock with very few minor exceptions). In other cases (walls, stairs, smelting recipes, etc.), items were ordered so wooden blocks come first before stone, then food, items, etc. Bedrock is mostly the same (wooden stairs appear towards the front of the column, smelted food comes before smelted items anyways). Delvin4519 () 03:18, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
    • Alright, all affected articles discussed have any mention of any particular edition removed. The above comment applies for those with no preference (re: wool colors, plank types). Delvin4519 () 03:56, 28 August 2023 (UTC)

Dithering on images

[edit source]
Latest comment: 30 August 20234 comments2 people in discussion

Hey, I've noticed on some images you've uploaded, there's a dithering effect on some areas. What software do you use? That might be a result of saving at a lower bit depth, where dithering is applied to approximate certain colors that can't be represented. – Unavailablehoax (talk) 05:51, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

  • Its likely from file compression. I was using this tool: https://www.imagesmaller.com/ If it needs reuploading, try to use the same screen resolution size and GUI size, since in some cases it change the layout. (Recipe books need all recipes unlocked). I still have the original files here, but they need to be edited down for transparancy and re-compressed: I'm not aware of a good tool to compress files. Delvin4519 () 14:38, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
If you're concerned about file size, a good tool quite a few editors here use is FileOptimizer. It takes any file it can optimize and runs it through a bunch of different programs that results in about the smallest file size you can expect without any degradation in quality, i.e. true lossless, as opposed to visually lossless or lossy compression such as jpeg. Though I wouldn't sweat it, images are compressed into webp when served to readers, so any compression you do beforehand has negligible effect, if any, for readers' download usage. – Unavailablehoax (talk) 04:54, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

Dungeons locations

[edit source]
Latest comment: 27 December 20231 comment1 person in discussion

Hey, you did a good job splitting the dungeons locations into collapsable tabs, but how do you designate on a page which tabs should be open by default? For example on the page for the side dungeon Cellar, the tabs that should be open by default are "Other Dimensions" and "Side Dungeons". SeaOfPixels (talk) 06:04, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Minecraft Earth templates

Latest comment: 14 January 20244 comments2 people in discussion

Dear Editor! All items in the MCE templates are arranged in the correct order. I have direct access to the game, so please don't be fooled by misinformation from various websites. Thank you. – SymORmaK (talk) 08:55, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

SymORmaK, the templates were rearranged to match the MCE:Journal page. If the differences from BE do exist, please update the MCE:Journal page so that all the categories match exactly. Because of your edit changes, the templates do not match MCE Journal and the BE inventory, which can be extremely confusing.
Also, some of the sub-sections in MCE Construction and MCE equipment needs to be merged. There is no need for so many sub-sections in the MCE construction and MCE equipment templates. Readers would best be served by combining all the food into one tab, and all the tiered tools together in MCE equipment. For MCE Construction, it is best to combine all the dyed blocks into 1 sub-section. Sub-sections work best when there are a handful of sub-sections with a handful of rows. Having more than a handful of subsections with only a single row is not a good navigational experience for readers. Delvin4519 () 15:40, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Well, on the one hand, I agree with the proposal to combine some categories into one. To be honest, I wanted to do that when I was developing them, but I thought that there were enough items in one category to make it an independent category. On the other hand, if you think that the items on the Journal page are organized correctly, you are wrong. This page was modeled after the craftersguide.stents.dev site, but the items are not organized correctly there, and there is some evidence for this. I can provide it if you need it. Also, certain journal tabs in the game are categorized, so if you think I made them up, you're wrong. Thank you. – SymORmaK (talk) 19:02, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Alright. I would request that MCE:Journal be updated with the corrections as needed. This way any misunderstandings can be cleared up. Delvin4519 () 19:05, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Java Edition removed blocks

I think you forgot about Java Edition removed blocks.

Part 1 of your edit seems lonely after so long without a corresponding part 2.

Would you be so kind to help part 1 find it's partner? :p Hoppp (talk) 19:16, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

Part 2 of the edit is within Special:Diff/2432290. I only wrote "part 1" since I did not know how many edits the task would take, but once I finished the task I wrote the edit summary as "finish the task" or something along those lines. Delvin4519 () 19:20, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

I reported the scam and they've moved the discord account back to my original email. I think it'd be best for me to take a break from the discord, I may do that, or maybe not. I'm just overwhelmed. Delvin4519 () 22:52, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I'm just saying that your recent hard work cleaning up lint errors is appreciated. I have no idea how you do it so fast, and thanks again for making this Wiki a better place by doing hard work that almost no one would appreciate. :) -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  23:54, 4 November 2024 (UTC)

Yea, I went through pretty much most of the talk pages. Trying to do the article space, I just noticed that article lint errors are cached, but if fixing lint errors on talk pages and MCW namespace, then the number count updates automatically. Delvin4519 () 00:32, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Minecraft Dungeons/Legends sound table template

[edit source]
Latest comment: 28 December 20244 comments2 people in discussion

Hi, can you edit the Minecraft Dungeons/Legends sound table template over at Template:Sound_table to have an additional field called "category", alongside the existing "sound"/"description"/"resource location" fields? Due to how Dungeons plays its ambush music, it's necessary to have an additional "category" field that can be used to specify whether a track is ambiant or battle music. Thanks in advance. SeaOfPixels (talk) 19:53, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Hi, I'd like to ask, what exactly would Legends categories be for? -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  19:59, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
I don't know, I don't work on the Legends namespace. They just use the same template so it would apply to both. SeaOfPixels (talk) 22:15, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
Either way, the parameter might be useful somehow with Legends or even the base game. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  22:23, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

Why are you changing all usages of the {{msgbox}} shortcut to {{Message box}}? There is no difference between the usages, it doesn't do anything except spam the recent changes. -- 👁 Image
MarkusRost (talk) 00:31, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

It makes it easier to find template usages since that particular template has 5 different redirects to the same template. I noticed User:245e had changed some of them so I thought to change some. Delvin4519 () 00:33, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

Novel navbox issue

[edit source]
Latest comment: 6 March 20252 comments2 people in discussion

There seems to be an issue where the navbox Template:Navbox_Matt_Forbeck_novels isn't collapsing sections according to parameters correctly. For example, the page Legends:Great_Kritten has the parameter Navbox Matt Forbeck novels|return of the piglins, but it isn't functioning as expected. SeaOfPixels (talk) 16:28, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

You need to remember to close the tables for each sub-table. Delvin4519 () 19:25, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

On my Reverted Changes to the Items Navbox

[edit source]
Latest comment: 27 October 202510 comments2 people in discussion

You said you reverted my edit so the navbox isn't bigger than it needs to be. Given this is the case, why did you undo the way I reordered some of the items and subcategories? Most of my changes in that regard had nothing to do with the size of the navbox. Was there a problem with how I did it, other than where I made things needlessly bigger? Batbrain55 (talk) 15:58, 24 October 2025 (UTC)

TNT, and heads were blocks, and some items were listed twice. Those additions bloat the size of the navbox. This navbox isn’t supposed to list blocks, it is for items. Delvin4519 () 00:14, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
Yes, and based on your comment, you consider all of those additions needless things that bloat the infobox's size.
What about the ordering/listing changes I made, such as moving 'Bottles' above 'Buckets' and moving 'Munitions' to the 'Utilities' category? Those changes didn't add new listings and didn't increase the file size. Are there reasons for why all changes of that nature were reverted? Batbrain55 (talk) 06:24, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
The layout should be familar to what you would find in the Creative inventory in-game. That way if you play Minecraft in-game and browse the block selection menus, then you come onto the wiki and navigate the navboxes, the layout is mostly intuitive and straightforward, with some modifications to reflect the slightly different scope of the wiki and differing layouts across editions. Delvin4519 () 02:05, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Okay, but from what I gather, the navbox is only very loosely based on the Creative inventory to the point it's hard to recognise. To me, it looked like the Utilities subcategories weren't listed in alphabetical order for absolutely no reason. I think it'd be more helpful if the wiki's ordering system was more divorced from Minecraft's in this case. Batbrain55 (talk) 07:07, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Not really, it makes the navbox completely unrecognizable. Having some form of familiarity is beneficial so that users have a rough idea where something is in in the navbox. Delvin4519 () 13:57, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Alphabetical order is a form of familiarity. Why do you consider it less valuable than an extremely loose attempt to mimic the Creative Inventory?
For example, the items navbox has both buckets and bottles under 'Utilities'. Java's Creative inventory has buckets under 'Tools & Utilities' and bottles under 'Food and Drinks'. Also, Java has rails in 'Tools & Utilities', while this navbox does not.
As it is, the navbox is, to me, completely unrecognizable as Java's Creative inventory. Batbrain55 (talk) 19:06, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
In BE tools and weapons and armor are grouped together. LCE had copied Bedrock Edition and also does it the same. We cannot favor Java over Bedrock or favor Bedrock over Java. Each edition has to make some sacrifices and we take aspects that are better suited for the wiki. If we copied BE then cooked and raw food would be in different tabs.
Putting munitions in utilities makes no sense. Bows and arrows should be in the same tab. No edition would put arrows in a completely different tab from bows. That would be insane. Delvin4519 () 23:11, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Sure, a lot of that does make sense. I wanted Munitions under Utilities for a form of consistency, but having it in Equipment is probably overall more helpful.
Also I do agree that both versions of the game are equally valid, though I worry that trying to combine both of their Creative inventories together creates something unfamiliar to players of both games. Both versions have differences that throw familiarity off one way or another, so I think diverging from those systems is okay as long as it improves the navbox. Not that I want to do any big changes at this point.
I still want to re-add some of my changes, but only the more minor ones I don't think you'll take any issue with. I don't want to explain them all one-by-one (though I will if you want me to), but none of them involve adding new items, moving items between subcategories, or moving subcategories at all. I just want to reorder some items and change a handful of icons. Is that okay with you? Batbrain55 (talk) 08:02, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
I did keep some of your changes. I did not revert all of them. When adjusting the navbox, it would be best to think in the eyes of the developers, how would they layout the order of blocks and items. Just keep in mind that on the wiki, blocks shouldn’t be in the items navbox and vice versa, and items should only be in one tab, not multiple. We have thematic navboxes so there is no need to list items twice in the main navbox. Delvin4519 () 15:50, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
