Ore to Ores

[edit source]
Latest comment: 24 February 20211 comment1 person in discussion

Hi. You proposed moving ore to ores a few weeks ago. You might want to participate on Talk:Ore about this. I am strongly opposed to it, for the reason I gave in the discussion (all general topic articles are singular: mob, poison, block, ore, etc). But I'd like to know your reasoning. I don't understand why it needs to be renamed to make way for mineral vein as you stated in your proposal. Thanks. Amatulic (talk) 04:35, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

About uploading low-quality image files

[edit source]
Latest comment: 4 September 20211 comment1 person in discussion

Noticing that a great part of images that you has uploaded are blurry and the titles of them are probably incorrect, which seems out of standards and has made troubles for me to sort them out in this page. Here are tips about it.

1. Try to use this template "{{move}}" well on these pages or move them directly to new pages which have correct titles if you can.

2. Think about reuploading optimized and standardised images instead of extracted screenshots.

3. Delete worse ones, such as this and that.

4. Discuss about them in the talk pages with other uploaders.

Please pick them up. Good day :)

History restructuring

[edit source]
Latest comment: 6 November 20212 comments2 people in discussion

Appreciate all the work you've been doing on separating technical history, is there any way I could help with that? - Rechner2 19:42, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Rechner2 One thing that needs done is the reduction of overlinking in such entries (e.g. "this [[block]]'s numeric ID was" - the linking of "block" is completely unneccessary since it's always done somewhere else in the page). Removing links like that shoukd assist in cleaning up history sections and moving the relevant information. - User-12316399 () 17:05, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Why did you remove all the information and replaced it with a single sentence? It was detaily described and i see no reason of its removal other than it occupied like half of the page. this is the edit Richard01 cze (talk) 15:25, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Hopper's isometric image

[edit source]

Hi there, I was doing something today and I noticed that a while ago you updated some of the Hopper's isometric textures, which are now still screenshots. Though I'm not sure about BE version, I do think that in JE version hopper had received its last texture change in 18w43a, from which all the isometric texture renderings of hopper had already been made (for example, the Dec 30, 2019 version of this file )

So, I think that the images before you updated were doing just fine, unless I'm missing something, could you tell me when do you believe Hopper's texture got changed again? Luotiansha (talk)

Hello, I saw that you put a notice about adding the images for the graphs about how the different village biomes are connected to each other on Villager Trade Rebalance. If you would like to add that image, please go to Special:Upload to upload that image to the wiki and put it there yourself. I don't think it's necessary personally as the Cartographer section already has an image about what biomes have maps leading to what biomes. Enlargment of textures.

[edit source]
Latest comment: 25 November 20243 comments2 people in discussion

Why did you revert some of the texture files and then revert them back? Not every file should be 10x the original size, and this was agreed upon. "Not being consistent" makes no sense because we want it to be consistent. I mean, you reveted them back to what they were before, but that still confuses me. File:Monster room in a deep dark biome.png

[edit source]
Latest comment: 24 October 20244 comments3 people in discussion

This file was taken on an SMP server. Obviously, they wouldn’t have shared their seed. It wasn’t even the server’s primary world, as it was generated in 1.18, before the deep dark was ever added. The server had a separate Overworld-like dimension for 1.20 content, and I took the image there while looking for ancient cities. BabylonAS 10:01, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Got it. I'm not using that template to be accusatory, just to be clear; I just want to make sure as many screenshots showing naturally-generated phenomena are verifiable. - User-12316399 () 10:03, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Maybe I could provide a replacement image if I find something similar on my vanilla singleplayer world, where I’ve had explored one ancient city not too far away from spawn, though it likewise dates back to JE 1.19.3: while early enough for the deep dark to generate, things could’ve changed since then. The file in question was taken in JE 1.20.2. BabylonAS 10:13, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Data history sections

Latest comment: 1 January 20252 comments2 people in discussion

I noticed that you've been creating Data history sections and moving certain items from the main article history table there. I never really noticed these sections in other articles before, and I didn't see any references to separate Data history sections in MCW:STYLE or MCW:FEATURES. Was there a past community discussion to create these separate sections? I suppose I understand wanting to move some of the more technical history changes into their own section, but some details like the ID changing seem significant enough to be in the main history table. Asset history tables

[edit source]
Latest comment: 6 August 20252 comments2 people in discussion

Hi! @Jaskola69 recently asked on Discord about wanting to add texture history tables to articles, and showed an example of one at Cooked Chicken#Texture history. I've tried improving on that table format in my sandbox: User:Violine1101/Sandbox#Texture history. I went ahead and also incorporated models into that, like you did with the "Asset history" subpages, in an effort to make them more concise and readable, so that they could potentially be included in the main article (I'd write a template for those tables then). I'd love to hear your feedback or general thoughts on this idea. | violine1101 (talk) 14:05, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Certainly this is interesting; I'm not sure if combining every edition into one table is the greatest idea, since there are version-exclusive textures and models, and having all the version information in the same table poses readability concerns. - User-12316399 () 08:46, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Your account has been blocked from editing for a period of one week, for making articles about leaked content, which is not allowed per rule 1 of the wiki. Your block log can be found here. If you think the block was made as a mistake and/or you think there are good reasons for you to be unblocked, you may discuss the block with administrators on your talk page here. However, if this is abused, your talk page access may be revoked as well. While you are blocked, please do not create any new accounts to edit with – this is called sock puppetry, and in most cases, all accounts that were created by a registered account that is blocked will be blocked indefinitely. Once this block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. Thank you. BDJP (t|c) 03:57, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

Are you seriously counting inferring the existence of versions on the basis of screenshots as being on the same level as facilitating software piracy and providing unauthorized access to private developer builds? None of the content on any of the created pages contained any content whatsoever that would fall afoul of the first rule. If the screenshots counted, perhaps there would have been more of a case, but those were very clearly not uploaded at this point. If we're being this strict on "leaked content", then the only logical conclusion is that the 0033, 0035 and 0054 builds shouldn't be documented on the wiki at all either, since those originated from illegitimate sources (and, unlike the other two, are full, downloadable game versions, not simply screenshots). This could have very easily been raised as a talk page warning at most; blocking an established user - which at least on my end seems like a unilateral decision as I haven't seen any others, wiki admins or otherwise, raise any complaints over this - for a whole week comes across as an absurd overstepping of power. - User-12316399 () 04:58, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
In my honest opinion, whether it involves screenshots or the latter part of your question, it is still against rule 1. This is the same reason why content from Dungeons and Legends content from prior to the official release is not allowed on the wiki at all (for the record, several attempts have been made regarding uploading or creating such content; no links were mentioned in a majority of them, but it was generally accepted that the content was from prior to the official releases of both games.)
Regarding the screenshots, they were uploaded earlier and were subsequently deleted (see here and here). I also agree that the other builds you have mentioned should not be on the wiki at all. I simply do not want the wiki, now and in the foreseeable future, to be on Mojang's bad side. I would rather remove any leaked content from the wiki than stand down and have it run rampant, risking us into further legal trouble.
Thinking about your statement for a moment, I have decided to lift your block. I completely agree that I may have overstepped my authority, but I still stand by my opinion that anyone that posts leaked content should be met with swift action. I am hoping to work with other administrators on codifying such language into the rule in the near future. BDJP (t|c) 05:28, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

It looks terrible and gives even less understanding than just a checkers block. — Ivan-r ru.Wiki admin 11:47, 5 May 2026 (UTC)

Many would disagree on the first point, but ultimately this is a subjective matter. I have no problem if ruMCW wants to continue using the error model to indicate missing versions, though ideally a separate upload of it specifically for template use would be preferable so it doesn't result in whatlinkshere clutter (possibly as a svg instead?). - User-12316399 () 11:56, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
I'm interested in the fact that you're replacing images with RuMCW, citing a discussion on EnMCW. We haven't seen that discussion; some RuMCW users don't even read EnMCW. If there's no technical need, and if you believe it's necessary to replace them with RuMCW, then it should be discussed on RuMCW. MakandIv (кортамс|сатовск) 11:57, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
Someone with a better handle on the russian language than I do would have to be the one to start that conversation. I had assumed that since a page already existed that the reference would have been clear, but at least for ruMCW this hasn't been the case. - User-12316399 () 12:47, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
You are not required to write in Russian if you do not speak it. We can translate, so this would not be a problem. But we don’t know how to translate or perceive silence, so had to write at least something instead of writing nothing. — Ivan-r ru.Wiki admin 13:04, 5 May 2026 (UTC)

What is the resourcepack mentioned in the 19w41a row? The discord channel does not seem to be public so I can’t access it, and I’m curious what it does (the one you added in this edit https://minecraft.wiki/w/Shader?diff=3597620&oldid=prev)

You used to add {{License cc-by-nc}} on ISOs (e.g. Special:PermaLink/1073602). I'm curious why they used this license. TigerZhang (talk) 07:11, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

You would need to ask whoever added it to the first table I copied from. - User-12316399 () 14:23, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
