All of these images you are uploading... is this just what you think they look like, or did a Mojang employee actually show them somewhere? Meeples10t ~ c 23:28, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Also... did you make these yourself? Meeples10t ~ c 00:18, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Please stop uploading unwanted images, such as unimplemented stuff (which the images don't exist) and especially invisible bedrock. We don't need an image for something that has no image. On the other hand, though, you're doing a good job for other images, but you need to add transparency. Yes, the white background isn't noticed on the white background of infoboxes, but all render images should have transparency for consistency, with few exceptions, like cobweb since it needs some sort of background to see it or 57Digital's logo which is unreadable with a transparent or white background. Kanegasi C 21:04, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

I would like to repeat that transparency in the images you are uploading is desired. I would reupload them myself, but I don't use anything other than Paint. Kanegasi C 04:38, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

I must say though, most of your images are amazing. In my opinion, they are making many pages much more formal. That cloud image caught my eye. --Neutral0814 (talk) 17:05, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Please license your images appropriately when uploading them. See {{license}} for a list of license templates. Also, if you are taking a screenshot, press before taking it. This hides the GUI. After taking the screenshot, pressing again will show the GUI. Meeples10t ~ c 13:35, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Regarding Images

Latest comment: 5 January 20141 comment1 person in discussion

If you are taking a screenshot ingame, please remember to press the F1 key to hide the ingame GUI before taking the screenshot. When uploading screenshots from within the game, please select {{license Mojang}} as the file license. Doing these two things will make a big difference. Thanks! 1234Iloveguns (talk) 22:29, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Tree images

Features in Pocket Edition, such as 'cold-en oak' trees, should be illustrated with screenshots taken of the real thing in Pocket Edition, not fake reproductions made on a PC. Also, as you have repeatedly been told, hide the GUI when taking screenshots. -- Orthotopetalk 21:17, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Not every image on this wiki needs to be taken by you, and please press F1 to hide the HUD before you take the picture, instead of cropping and stretching. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 21:04, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

You have now been told at least four times how to hide the GUI/HUD when taking screenshots. I've run out of patience for your persistent edit-warring over the tree and biome images; either learn to take better-quality screenshots, or leave the existing ones alone. -- Orthotopetalk 23:18, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Okay, I've been practicing, and I have finally learned to hide the GUI. I'm sorry for causing trouble.

Stop edit/upload warring. Period. You won't get another warning. -- Orthotopetalk 22:33, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

What? Are my pictures not good enough for you? What's wrong with them? Tell me right here, right now. SquareMan () 02:22, 1 August 2014 (UTC)SquareMan78649
What's wrong is that you keep re-uploading the same images, completely ignoring the objections – and reason for objection – of several other editors. If there's disagreement about which version should be used, rather than edit warring, make your argument on the talk page, and if other people disagree, respect that consensus. -- Orthotopetalk 06:00, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
And, just less than 2 months later, the 3rd round of file warring begun. If you finally decide to agree with others (see above), we shall be happy, but if you will not, you will have serious trouble. –Naista2002Talk

Please get out of my talk page. Just who are you to criticize me on my image taking? I work hard to find the perfect spot to take these images, and what do I get? Someone who thinks they are soo powerful but really aren't. I give reasons when I upload new version, and you know what? That's enough! Now good day to you! SquareMan () 15:06, 27 September 2014 (UTC)SquareMan78649
By "calm down" I meant that you won't cause any incidents like you had. Had I bought Minecraft, I would take these photos myself. But we'll see. And don't break the rules for another time, or you will get another block. –Naista2002Talk

Perhaps you're right. I was taking things a little too out of proportion. But I don't appreciate people just abruptly coming in and criticizing me! I try hard for you guys, and you don't know it. Everything was actually going quite well until Superspace interrupted, that's what really burns me. SquareMan () 15:27, 27 September 2014 (UTC)SquareMan
Your newest images do, in fact, look somewhat better. A presence of another biome in your biome pictures is not end of the world - so if you accidentally have a small part of an "unneeded" biome, you must not start an edit-war again. And, when replying, add a level of indentation using :. –Naista2002Talk

Thank you, and again, my apologies. SquareMan () 16:06, 27 September 2014 (UTC)SquareMan
This may just be personal opinion, but I suggest lowering your mipmap settings. The pictures just end up blurred in the background, reducing the overall quality.
--KnightMiner (t|c) 04:04, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
What are mipmap settings? SquareMan () 15:07, 28 September 2014 (UTC)SquareMan
See Wikipedia:Mipmap. I didn't play Minecraft that much. –Naista2002Talk

If you head into video settings in the options menu, you will see a slider called mipmap which goes from 0 to 4. Basically it causes objects in the background to blend together, causing a smoother but less detailed background. --KnightMiner (t|c) 15:41, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Tips on photos

[edit source]
Latest comment: 5 October 20142 comments1 person in discussion

Below is a list of tips to follow when making good screenshots, and possibly restore your reputation.

Tips may not be accurate, because I only took a few photos of Minecraft on PC, which are not about biomes or something like that.

General
  • Use F1 to hide GUI, which would obstruct the view.
  • Use no texture packs in the screenshots.
  • Mipmap should be set to a low setting. Mipmap set to a high setting blurs everything, lowering the details and quality.
  • Details on the image and quality of it vary with the position and angle you take it from.
  • Special cases:
    • For biomes, you can pick a position that is low enough to see more details and high enough to see more of the object. You can also try an angle of 15° to 50°.
  • So, before posting a new photo, take multiple of them, and post the best one.
Biome images
  • Better do not try to get rid of other, "unneeded" biomes. It can be better to see a biome as part of something bigger.
    • You can leave the most space of your image (say, 80-90%) to the biome you're taking a photo of.

Image insurgency, Part 5

[edit source]
Latest comment: 2 January 20153 comments3 people in discussion

That's the 5th block you've got. Biome isolation isn't a requirement; it is better to see a biome as part of something bigger; say, up to 60% of other biomes is fine. If someone disagrees - respect that. Had I bought Minecraft - I would take some biome pictures myself.

If you won't stop doing what you did, your next block may be permanent.

And, harassment messages will be reverted.

P.S. Orthotope: Can you use "behavior" instead of "behaviour" in blocking summaries? This wiki uses American English.

If that's the case, you'll be happy to know that I'm leaving. If my short temper and anger-management issues are too much for you, it is best that I leave. It was a pleasure doing business with you guys (except for JohnHOne and Superspace, you guys are ANNOYING). But anyways, I enjoyed doing business with everyone else, and it was a good run while it lasted. Now I will leave and take my nonexistent luggage with me. Happy trails to you all.
