THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Damn, nice way to end the episode.
"I'm starting to think mal is run by Xinil generating electricity on a bicycle." - idklol |
Yeah I agree, very nice ending! This show is quite exciting.
adefgbhjnkmlffjxhgkh jfhjkfhdjhf jh kjsjjkfsd jdfskj The last few minutes were so unbelievably tense. I really wanted them to escape with her. x__x
Oh no! Ahh, what a way to end it. Dang, Valentine's stepmom is evil.

Altair718 said: stepmom is evil. This. And I thought she was especially cruel when she pretty much chimed in and said it would be good for the grandfather's "rehabilitation" if he wasn't helped back up after falling. Hmph. Her plans and scheming better not work out in the end... It just wouldn't be right. |
The Count is absolutely captivating and his game of revenge is just beautiful!
Well, I think this episode was entirely unique to the anime. merle_noir said: Altair718 said: stepmom is evil. This. When the total revelation of her plans is revealed, you'll see she has good intentions... well, sorta.

Interesting episode, especially with the death letter, and well I don't think we'll be seeing Valentine again... Either way decent episode with an interesting ending!
Another fantastic episode, another great ending! Valentine's step mom is a bitch that for sure, but I think she is somehow manipulated by a Count...
This makes me want to watch the Tudors, I don't know why lol.
Poor grandfather :(
oh my god! the ending....is a real cliffhanger!
"If you reject me, I'll blast a hole in you!" Kanzaki H. Aria Just kidding.
Anyone else spot the name "Haydee" on the Count de Morcerf's papers, just before Albert walked in with the letter? :) -Arvis
| (rewatching) Wow, intense episode. The Edmond Dantes link is revealed! Arvis_Jaggamar said: Wow, you're right! Way to go official subs... spelling her name WRONG! | Valentine's dad seems to be the more evil one. Well, the enigma that is the Count just grows and grows. 4/5 |

Last few minutes were incredibly tense, indeed. Poor Valentine being stuck with an asshole of a father and a conniving, manipulative stepmother. and Valentine's grandfather, too, the poor old man. >_> Am I supposed to know who Edmond Dantes is or who was in that coffin?

The grandfather = best boy!
I really don't know why this would make anyone want to watch The Tudors lol. Although it was a great show. I guess Edmond was who they crossed or whatever (like in the Jim Caviezel movie, since he was the main character and that was his name) but I have no idea who that was in the coffin. Interesting episode. Valentine's parents are mean, I feel sad for her and her grandfather. I hope they get away with her.
So mysterious, another good episode. Don't want to see Valentine slowly poisoned to death.
Now it's obvious valentines mom is behind all this. The interesting fact however is how the count has been set up everything to reach this result.
I was going for the next episode immediately, but it seems like each episode will end with a cliffhanger lol. Things are getting intense, I wonder what these guys did in the past.
besides the music who is kinda generic and bland this is a really damn good anime!!
One hell of a cliffhanger we have here! Just when things start to make a little more sense, it blows up again
I'm Bruneian and I like anime. And Manchester United. And fat cats.
This is amazingly intense. I love this so much.

Here Franz with Maximilien withdraw Valentine from his house. |
Just realized that the guy with the eyepatch who let Villefort's private investigator sleep with the fishes for poking his nose where it didn't belong was actually the bandit chief over at Luna. He sure did a thorough job of getting the message across from across the grave that a dead man's better off being well left alone. The Count doesn't need any more people snooping around his fairly distant private life, after all. Max, Franz, and Renaud decided to take Valentine's safety into their own hands and tried to save her from her impending doom in that horrid abode. Her grandfather even revealed the truth about who was responsible for this atrocity right before sending them off. I'm really pissed off that the two of them would joke about the grandfather falling off his wheelchair and not giving a shit about helping him back up. They actually did him in too and anticipated their arrival right at their escape vehicle for reasons unknown. They're really sharp, damn. Hope the Prosecutor sees through the lies and do his job rightfully for once but I can't really count on him to do so.
This was a pretty big episode, because it was finally revealed what connected the three fathers, outside of them all having major positions in Paris. The count is obviously connected to their seemingly dark past. The tension is rising and I can't wait for the past's reveal. I'm glad that Franz and Maximillion are working together to save Valentine. In an anime with so many fucked up interpersonal relationships, it's really uplifting to see characters working together for a similar cause and respecting each others motives in the process ("hey I love your fiance, hope you don't mind, let's save her" "oh yeah np bro, let's do it") Valentine's mother disgusts me; a typical stepmom that wants her own (snotty annoying ruthless) kid to prevail over her stepdaughter, who's the rightful heir. Not that that should be the main reason for someone inheriting the "business", but really, no one in their right mind would grant the boy anything. 5/5 for this episode. First 5/5 rating for me personally and I really hope the show keeps it up. I'm glad I pushed myself through the beginning episodes.
Grandpa da GOAT for snitching on the mom. Also, Edmond sucks for laughing at the idea of an old man falling out of wheelchair. What was the counts part in the pay I thought he was the one killed.
More and we get close to the secrets behind the curtain.
Edmond Dantes comes back from death to take revenge. Some more thrilling reveals in this episode. Finding the informant in the casket was certainly quite shocking. And that painful cliffhanger... On a side note, Valentine's step-brother is such an asshole even by "spoiled brat that most likely has inherited his mother's genes" standards.
Does anyone else noticed that Mercedes’s eyes were lifeless during the whole show and the one time they were alive is when she heard the name Edmond Dantès?
Great episode. The OST is really selling it, classical music accompanied with the beautiful evil of The Count was a sight to behold. Can't wait for the next ep.
Seriously... who is this Edmond Dantes... what did they do to him that they are so scared like that? I'm not very good at guessing, but I was thinking that maybe this Edmond is the human who asked the Count to take revenge on them...? (Something like Kuroshitsuji). Although I'm not really sure either. And please, if Valentine doesn't die, please give her and Maximilien a happy ending!
I'm enjoying this anime, let's see what happens to the evil mom.
Best episode because this is clearly a turning point in the count's vengeance against his enemies, as they have been invited by the one they thought they got rid of in the past... but now they understand that anyone who goes against him can end up dead just like this detective. Also Valentine is now in a coma who knows if she'll ever wake up but they are trying to save her...
