I've noticed that I can't change settings for the left trackpad on my steam controller. It keeps reverting back to "none".

Let's take Steam's official desktop layout controls for the Steam Controller as an example:

I've noticed that when you re-apply the official layout, everything works fine. The left trackpad works as a scroll-wheel from those settings, but once you change the settings on the left trackpad, the scroll wheel setting vanishes and I can't change it back to anything else.

The scroll wheel option is also completely gone from the settings for the right track pad as well.

I also can't make "Mode Shifts" on either of the track pads.

I've had the same issue when I changed the left stick from analogue stick to dpad in the Gamepad action set of the desktop layout. I could not find the option to set the left stick as it was, and there was no resetting to default function. I had to reset my whole desktop layout to fix it.

Huh so it's not just an issue with the track pads, other commands can lose settings.
