Use reading mode in Chrome
Customize your reading experience on Chrome with reading mode. This feature helps you:
- Focus more easily on text.
- Reduce distractions on screen.
- Select alternate typeface and font size.
- Choose color theme.
If you’re using Chrome on a computer, you can also:
- Listen to text read out loud.
- Select a voice and change voice speed.
- Adjust line and letter spacing.
Turn on reading mode
- On your Android device, open Chrome 👁 Chrome
. - Go to the web page you want to read.
- On the right of the address bar, tap More 👁 Image
👁 and then
Show Reading mode 👁 Image
.
Tip: When you tap “Show Reading mode” and the web page isn’t available in reading mode, a pop up message appears that “Reading mode is unavailable.”
Use reading mode to make reading easier
You can adjust font settings and background color in reading mode.
- On the right of the address bar, tap Show Reading mode 👁 Image
. - At the bottom, pull the “Reading mode” sheet.
- You can:
- Adjust the font: Select a font style from:
- Sans Serif
- Serif
- Mono
- Adjust the font size: Scroll to your preferred font size.
- Change the reading mode background color: Select a background color from:
- Light
- Sepia
- Dark
- Adjust the font: Select a font style from:
