Give a place a private label
Important: Weβre currently updating settings for Google Search services, which include Search, Maps, Shopping, Flights, Hotels, Translate, and News. These are rolling out gradually over the next few months. If the settings in this article do not match what you see, history and personalized recommendations for Search services are still controlled by Web & App Activity.
You can add a private label to places on your map. Labeled places show up on your map, in search suggestions, and in Google Photos.
To add a label, follow the steps below.
- Open the Google Maps app π Maps
. - Search for an address. Or drop a pin by touching and holding a place on the map.
- At the bottom, tap the name of the place.
- Tap Label.
Notes:
- To add a label to a business, go to the placeβs page and tap More π Image

Add label.
- Open the Google Maps app π Maps
. - Tap a label you want to edit.
- At the bottom, tap the place name or address.
- Tap Edit label.
- Enter a new label name.
- Tap Done.
- Open the Google Maps app π Maps

Find the label you want to delete.
- Beside the label you want to delete, tap More π Image
π and then
Remove label. - You'll see the message "Your named place has been removed." If you didn't want to delete the label, tap Undo.
- Open the Google Maps app π Maps

Tap a label you want to see on the map.
