Find your places & lists in the You tab
Important: We’re currently updating settings for Google Search services, which include Search, Maps, Shopping, Flights, Hotels, Translate, and News. These are rolling out gradually over the next few months. If the settings in this article do not match what you see, history and personalized recommendations for Search services are still controlled by Web & App Activity.

Search & save Your places in Google Maps
Important: To get the most out of this feature, start saving history so you find places you've recently searched for, gotten directions to, and viewed alongside your saved places. .
In the “You” tab, under "Your recent places," you can find places you recently searched for, got directions to, viewed, or saved. You can search and filter the list to:
- Find specific places
- Add places to saved lists
- Share places with others
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - Tap You 👁 Save place

See all. - Under “Your places,” at the top left, tap Search 👁 Search
. - Enter the name of the place you want to search for or the personal note you added to it.
- From the search results, select the best match.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - Tap You 👁 Save place
👁 and then
See all. - Under “Your places,” at the top, select the filters you want to apply.
- Select filter options from the filter menu.
- Tap Apply.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - Tap You 👁 Save place
👁 and then
See all. - Touch and hold the place you’d like to select.
- To select other places, tick the check box beside them.
- To select all places, tap Select all.
- Tap Save.
- Select an existing list or create a new one.
- To create a new list, tap New list 👁 Plus
.
- To create a new list, tap New list 👁 Plus
- Tap Done.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - Tap You 👁 Save place
👁 and then
See all. - Touch and hold the place you’d like to select.
- To select other places, tick the check box beside them.
- To select all places, tap Select all.
- Tap Share.
- Choose your app.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - Tap You 👁 Save place
👁 and then
See all. - Next to the place you want to manage, tap More 👁 More
. - Choose an option:
- To remove the history for that place: Tap Delete Maps history 👁 and then
Delete. - To review that place’s visit history: Tap See visits & Maps history.
- To remove the history for that place: Tap Delete Maps history 👁 and then
Find saved places
Important: The content in the You tab depends on your activity on Google Maps.
Recently saved
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - At the bottom of your screen, tap You 👁 Save place
. - You can scroll through “Recently saved” to find places you have recently added to your lists.
- Tap a place for more details and its location on the map.
- Tap the list name to jump directly to the list.
Nearby saved
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - At the bottom of your screen, tap You 👁 Save place
. - You can scroll through the “Nearby saved” cards to find nearby places that you have added to your lists.
- Tap a place for more details and its location on the map.
- Tap the list name to jump directly to the list.
Visited
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - At the bottom of your screen, tap You 👁 Save place
. - Scroll down to find links to your Timeline.
Under “Visited”, you can find the following information: Yesterday, Places, Cities, and Countries/Regions you have visited. Tap any of them for more detailed information in Timeline.
Your lists
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - At the bottom of your screen, tap You 👁 Save place
. - Scroll down to find your lists. You’ll also find lists you follow.
- Tap New list to create a new list.
Maps
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
. - At the bottom of your screen, tap You 👁 Save place
. - Below your list, tap Maps.
