Learn how to view people in Google Meet

As more participants join, the tile view displays up to 8 tiles on your screen.

View someone in full screen

  1. In a meeting, tap the screen so that call controls appear.
  2. At the bottom right of the person's tile, tap More options ๐Ÿ‘ More
    .
  3. From the menu that opens, tap Full screen ๐Ÿ‘ Image
    .
  4. After the participant is in full screen, to make the call controls disappear, tap the screen again.
  5. Optional: To remove someone from full screen, tap their tile ๐Ÿ‘ and then
    More options ๐Ÿ‘ More
     ๐Ÿ‘ and then
    Exit Full Screen.

Tip: If a teacher points their camera to a blackboard or whiteboard but doesnโ€™t share their screen, students can full screen the teacher's tile to follow along more effectively.

Pin any participant

  1. In a meeting, tap the screen so that call controls appear.
  2. At the bottom right of the person's tile you want to pin, tap More options ๐Ÿ‘ More
    .
  3. From the menu that opens, tap Pin ๐Ÿ‘ Pin (keep)
    .
  4. Optional: To unpin someone, at the bottom right corner of their screen, tap unpin ๐Ÿ‘ Image
    .

If the participant's tile you want to pin isn't visible, at the top, tap the meeting name. On the people tab, next to the participant's name, tap More options ๐Ÿ‘ More
 ๐Ÿ‘ and then
 tap Pin ๐Ÿ‘ Pin (keep)
.

Full screen someone whoโ€™s auto-pinned

At the bottom right of the pinned participantโ€™s tile, tap Full screen ๐Ÿ‘ Image
.

Tip: Any time someone shares their screen, their tile is automatically pinned to your screen. While an auto-pinned participant canโ€™t be unpinned, you can pin another participant to unpin the presentation.

Zoom out to get a wider view of a participant

If someone isnโ€™t fully visible within their tile or they appear cropped, you can zoom their video out.

  1. Find the participantโ€™s tile who you want to zoom out.
  2. Pinch the screen to zoom out.

If your floating self-view video obstructs your view or prevents you from following a presentation, you can minimize your self-view.

1. In a meeting, tap your Floating self-view video.
2. At the bottom right of your floating video, tap Menu๐Ÿ‘ More
๐Ÿ‘ and then
Minimize your video ๐Ÿ‘ Image
.

Flip pages to view all participants

Important: For Android only.

If there are more participants than can fit on your deviceโ€™s layout in your meeting, you can flip pages to view additional participants. Your self view automatically anchors to the bottom right corner on every page.

To flip pages:

  1. On your Android device, on the right, tap on the tabs.
  2. To return to the main page, tap on the top tab.

Tip: Pinned presentations or participants stay on the first page when you flip pages.
