Learn how to view people in Google Meet
On the Meet or Gmail app, tile view shows:
- Up to 8 tiles on your iphone screen.
- Up to 48 tiles on the ipad sceen.
If you use a Safari browser on an iPad, you can view up to 49 tiles.
View someone in full screen
- In a meeting, tap the screen so that call controls appear.
- At the bottom right of the person's tile, tap More options ๐ More
. - From the menu that opens, tap Full screen ๐ Image
. - After the participant is in full screen, to make the call controls disappear, tap the screen again.
- Optional: To remove someone from full screen, tap their tile ๐ and then
More options ๐ More
๐ and then
Exit Full Screen.
Tip: If a teacher points their camera to a blackboard or whiteboard but doesnโt share their screen, students can full screen the teacher's tile to follow along more effectively.
Pin any participant
- In a meeting, tap the screen so that call controls appear.
- At the bottom right of the person's tile you want to pin, tap More options ๐ More
. - From the menu that opens, tap Pin ๐ Pin (keep)
. - Optional: To unpin someone, at the bottom right corner of their screen, tap unpin ๐ Image
.
If the participant's tile you want to pin isn't visible, at the top, tap the meeting name. On the people tab, next to the participant's name, tap More options ๐ More

tap Pin ๐ Pin (keep)

Full screen someone whoโs auto-pinned
At the bottom right of the pinned participantโs tile, tap Full screen ๐ Image
.
Tip: Any time someone shares their screen, their tile is automatically pinned to your screen.
Zoom out to get a wider view of a participant
If someone isnโt fully visible within their tile or they appear cropped, you can zoom their video out.
- Find the participantโs tile who you want to zoom out.
- Pinch the screen to zoom out.
If your floating self-view video obstructs your view or prevents you from following a presentation, you can minimize your self-view.
1. In a meeting, tap your Floating self-view video.
2. At the bottom right of your floating video, tap Menu๐ More
๐ and then
Minimize your video ๐ Image
