A Fuse Bead Mat is a special collectable item exclusively found in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. Fuse Bead Mats start off empty, but can be filled in using Fuse Beads and Luminas collected in Dedede Gogogo and Slash & Bead. They are viewable from the Patch Plaza and are required for 100% completion of the game.
Mats are unlocked by completing the stages of Dedede Gogogo and Slash & Bead with various ranks, with each subsequent rank awarding a new mat. There are 36 mats in total which can be collected this way. Once a mat has been collected, the player must use specific colors of fuse beads collected in specific amounts to complete the mat. There are nine different colors to collect in the stages: the first eight are standard colors of red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, black, and white, and the last are special glowing beads called Luminas, which are rarer than the others. Each mat needs a specific combination of colored beads to fill them out, though the final products often feature different color beads than were used to construct it.
Each mat in Dedede Gogogo is based on some variety of Food item, which is a clear reference to King Dedede's gluttonous nature:
