Leverage the CData Connect AI Remote MCP Server to enable Claude to securely answer questions and take actions on your Cosmos DB data for you.

Claude is a family of advanced large language models (LLMs) built by Anthropic, an AI research company founded in 2021. These models power the Claude conversational assistant and developer tools.

CData Connect AI offers a dedicated cloud-to-cloud interface for connecting to Cosmos DB data. The CData Connect AI Remote MCP Server enables secure communication between Claude and Cosmos DB. This allows you to ask questions and take actions on your Cosmos DB data using Claude, all without the need for data replication to a natively supported database. With its inherent optimized data processing capabilities, CData Connect AI efficiently channels all supported SQL operations, including filters and JOINs, directly to Cosmos DB. This leverages server-side processing to swiftly deliver the requested Cosmos DB data.

To obtain the connection string needed to connect to a Cosmos DB account using the SQL API, log in to the Azure Portal, select Azure Cosmos DB, and select your account. In the Settings section, click Connection String and set the following values:

    • AccountEndpoint: The Cosmos DB account URL from the Keys blade of the Cosmos DB account
    • AccountKey: In the Azure portal, navigate to the Cosmos DB service and select your Azure Cosmos DB account. From the resource menu, go to the Keys page. Find the PRIMARY KEY value and set AccountKey to this value.
