The CData Excel Add-In for Microsoft Planner provides formulas that can edit, save, and delete Microsoft Planner data. The following three steps show how you can automate the following task: Search Microsoft Planner data for a user-specified value and then organize the results into an Excel spreadsheet.
The syntax of the CDATAQUERY formula is the following:
=CDATAQUERY(Query, [Connection], [Parameters], [ResultLocation]);
This formula requires three inputs:
Connection: Either the connection name, such as MicrosoftPlannerConnection1, or a connection string. The connection string consists of the required properties for connecting to Microsoft Planner data, separated by semicolons.
You can connect without setting any connection properties for your user credentials. Below are the minimum connection properties required to connect.
When you connect the Driver opens the MS Planner OAuth endpoint in your default browser. Log in and grant permissions to the Driver. The Driver then completes the OAuth process.
The procedure below results in a spreadsheet that organizes all the formula inputs in the first column.
=CDATAQUERY("SELECT * FROM Tasks WHERE TaskId = '"&B5&"'","OAuthClientId="&B1&";OAuthClientSecret="&B2&";CallbackURL="&B3&";InitiateOAuth="&B4&";Provider=MicrosoftPlanner",B6)
