The CData Excel Add-In for Microsoft Teams provides formulas that can edit, save, and delete Microsoft Teams data. The following three steps show how you can automate the following task: Search Microsoft Teams data for a user-specified value and then organize the results into an Excel spreadsheet.
The syntax of the CDATAQUERY formula is the following:
=CDATAQUERY(Query, [Connection], [Parameters], [ResultLocation]);
This formula requires three inputs:
Connection: Either the connection name, such as MSTeamsConnection1, or a connection string. The connection string consists of the required properties for connecting to Microsoft Teams data, separated by semicolons.
You can connect to MS Teams using the embedded OAuth connectivity. When you connect, the MS Teams OAuth endpoint opens in your browser. Log in and grant permissions to complete the OAuth process. See the OAuth section in the online Help documentation for more information on other OAuth authentication flows.
The procedure below results in a spreadsheet that organizes all the formula inputs in the first column.
=CDATAQUERY("SELECT * FROM Teams WHERE Id = '"&B5&"'","OAuthClientId="&B1&";OAuthClientSecret="&B2&";CallbackURL="&B3&";InitiateOAuth="&B4&";Provider=MSTeams",B6)
