This is the fifth and final course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have a recent version of Microsoft Excel installed. The course setup instructions provided in the first course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

You are already aware of Microsoft® Excel's® many analytical capabilities. But, as powerful as Excel is, there are some tasks it simply can't handle on its own. There may be times in your career where you need to perform complex data analysis on very large datasets from a wide variety of sources, which may include data in numerous database tables or from massive data feeds. When your analysis requires this sort of heavy lifting, Excel could use a bit of help. Fortunately, Excel includes a powerful add-in that can handle this very type of heavy lifting: Power Pivot. Taking the time to become familiar with this add-in, its capabilities, and how it works, will open an array of new opportunities in terms of high-level data analysis.

Reports may well include charts, but they also must include additional information to put the charts in context. Reporting is a task you will likely be called upon to do frequently, so acquiring the skills to do it effectively will help you in any job role.
