KNE-9DKWulfenite Pb(MoO4) , Pyromorphite Pb5(PO4)3Cl

Sherman Mine, Lelande Mining District, Shoshone County, Idaho, USA

Field of View: 2 mm

I bought a specimen of pyromorphite from a dealer at the Mineral Treasures and Fossil Fair, a joint show by The Philadelphia Mineralogical Society and The Delaware Valley Paleontology Society on March 23-24, 2024. It looked like it would be fun to examine under my microscope. When I got it home and put it under the' scope, what should I find but this nice orange wulfenite perched on a spear of green pyromorphite! Since Mindat had no images of wulfenite from the Sherman Mine, I wanted to post the first. Photo and specimen: Steve Stuart.
