Black top hill is almost certainly the same as the Squaretop mountain locality just north of Dalby (per K.Compton July 2016).
This flat-topped basalt outcrop is adjacent to the Bunya Mountain Range and is the only known locality for hyalite in the district.
Located approximately 300 km west of Brisbane.

Formerly part of Wambo Shire, which was merged into Western Downs Region.
