Located 3 to 5 kilometres south of the Mount Magnet-Yalgoo Road. Retallicks is 200 metres south-east. A track heads due west from Davey's about 200 metres to the Gold Bug Mine. At the time of writing the whole area was under active mining leases. Davey's is an area of disturbed ground, from modern exploration 1985 to 1990, which included costeaning, bulk sampling and drilling.

The most recent exploration company, Mount Magnet South NL states, the prospect is on a north north-east 2 kilometre long shear, and quartz stockwork veining hosted by kaolinised porphyry. There is potential it hopes for gold mineralisation at the contact with basalt/granite which strikes east-west for several hundred metres. There is a zone of strong hydrobrecciation adjacent to the historic shaft which shows Gold up to 4.2 g/t.
