Transfind is approximately 60 kilometres south-east of Kalgoorlie, and 200 metres north of the Trans Australian Railway Line.

It was discovered 3 years later than the Trans deposit, by Jason Jones of Bulong, who was fencing on pastoral property he owned in the area. The lode was 4 to 5 feet wide, proved for a length of 160 feet. The ore body consisted of ironstone, quartz, and hornblende, with very fine gold. A trial parcel of 8 tonnes of ore obtained 12 dwt.

Shortly after discovery the site had two open cuts 60 feet apart and to a depth of 6 feet.

A modern exploration company stated it found anomalous gold from the top of a supergene enrichment zone, 400 metres long, to a depth of 175 metres from the surface. There was a second smaller anomalous zone to the south. Both were drilled on in 2011.

The site is in Archaean monzogranite called the Juglah Granite, containing highly altered greenstone remnants. The site is on saltbush flats and covered by recent alluvium and colluvium.

The site contains old mine shafts, dumps and pits, as well as several more modern exploration trenches. The deposit strikes north, is steeply dipping sequence of quartz-sericite-clay, and quartz-sericite-biotite, frequently sheared and schistosed.

There are also a number of felsic quartz-feldspar porphyry intrusions. The deposit is located on the eastern flank of the south plunging Bulong Anticline, as a subsidiary splay off the Majestic Fault.
