Boonanarring (Atlas) mineral sands prospect
The Boonanarring mineral sands project is a high grade, zircon rich "rolling" open pit mine operation. Located approximately 16 kilometres north of Gingin, bordering the east side of the Brand Highway, and just south-west of the McCalls mineral sand prospect.
A number of relatively shallow pits are planned and will be rehabilitated as developed.
The Project is following the mineral rich deposits in a roughly north-west to south-east direction.
Total resources amount to 32.3 Mt at 8.1 HM. Estimated mine life is 5 years, producing 89 000 tonnes per annum of ilmenite, 5400 tonnes of leucoxene, 9000 tonnes of rutile, and 32 400 tonnes of zircon. The deposit has a strike length of 10.5 kilometres.
