Ferguson mentions the Monte Carlo prospect, as silicified cherty breccia in a shear zone, within granite, containing quartz veins with coarse galena.

Martin et.al. states that the deposit is steep dipping quartz veins along a 3 kilometre length, trending north north-east. The site contained several shallow shafts along 120 metres at the southern end of the vein, with more workings 90 metres to the north. Mined 1948-1953 producing 47.7 tonnes of lead, and 8,211 g Ag.

Mineralisation is hosted by foliated granodiorite, muscovite-biotite granite, and muscovite-schorl pegmatite. Some of the quartz is colloform banding, and locally cavity fill.
