This is a small Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn mining district established in 1871, and that occupies only a few square miles on the southern slopes of the Bradshaw Mts. It adjoins the Pine Grove District on the South, about 35 miles SE of Prescott.

The northern part of the district is occupied by granodiorite (quartz diorite) and at the southern end this rock borders with intrusive contact against Bradshaw Granite and an intercalcated belt of Yavapai Schist, that contains many pegmatite veins near the granite contact.
