A prominent Y-shaped body within the Animikie Basin, intruding sulphur-bearing greywacke and mudstone of the Paleoproterozoic Rove Formation. The intrusion, which comprises a northern and southern limb, is eastward plunging and lopolithic to dyke-like in shape. Overall, the intrusion is comprised of a basal, sulphide-bearing taxitic gabbro unit, progressing upwards into a sequence of mineralised gabbro and chrome-spinel horizons overlain by a thick (>300 m) succession of homogeneous, unmineralised troctolite or magnetite-bearing olivine gabbro in the northern and southern limbs, respectively.
