A Cr occurrence/prospect located in sec. 28, T11N, R8E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) NNW of Flagstaff Hill (coordionates of record), on private land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in dunite. The ore body forms high-grade streaks and stringers with a strike of N25W and dip of 75E at a thickness of 30.48 meters, width of 121.92 meters and a length of 365.76 meters. Local alteration includes silicification. Associated rocks include pyroxenite. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface openings comprised of a few small pits.
Although workings revealed good ore, the grade is too low and the ore bodies are too small for profitable mining.
