A former Cu-Ag-Au occurrence/mine located in the Nยฝ sec. 30, T4S, R20E, SBM, 7.1 km (4.4 miles) N of McCoy Spring (coordinates of record), along the E slope, N end of the McCoy Mountains (7 miles SW of Inca siding). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Operated during the periods 1907 to 1909 & 1916.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10077109 presents geographic coordinates of 33.86894, -114.75913, but gives the same T&R value except sec. 29 is also included. Both referenced MRDS database files present MRDS file #10164624 as a related file; however, that file pertains to a locality in sec. 18, T7S, R15E, SBM.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist and granite. The ore body strikes N20E and dips 70E at a width of 0.61 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included a shear zone and fractures. Schist occurs between granite walls. A 20- to 30-foot wide shear zone occurs in granite. It strikes N70W and dips 35N with a surface length of 12,000 feet. Mineralization occurs in a series of cross-fractures within the shear zone. The veins are of quartz & calcite. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 914.4 meters. The principal development is on the Eagle Nest No. 7 claim and is comprised of a tunnel driven E for 200 feet that cut a series of parallel veins 75 feet from the portal. Numerous other workings are on the property and total 3,000 feet.

Production statistics: Year: 1909 (period = 1909); ore (accurate): ^Au 0.4 ounce/ton; Ag: 8 ounces/ton; Cu: 23.42%. Recovery percentages: Ag = 11 grams/metric ton; Au = 226 grams/metric ton; Cu = 23 weight percent. Total production was $7,000 (period values).
