Formula:
(Cu,Al)3(OH)6[Sb5+(OH)6]
Ideal Cu:Al ratio is 2:1; very minor Mg may replace some of the Cu (Kolitsch et al., 2013).
Colour:
Pale bluish, pale blue-green, greenish
Lustre:
Vitreous
Crystal System:
Monoclinic
Name:
Polytype of cualstibite.
A polytype of Cualstibite

The original name cyanophyllite (given by K. Walenta in 1981), from the Greek for blue (κυανός) and a leaf (φύλλον), in allusion to the color and habit, was discredited in 2012 (IMA 12-B) during the definition of the hydrotalcite supergroup (Mills et al., 2012), since it was recognised as a polytype of cualstibite.
