Quartz-syenite

A rock classification type

A syenitic rock with felsic minerals containing 5-20% quartz on the QAPF diagram, and no foids.
A coarse grained plutonic rock comprising mostly K-feldspar with lesser quartz and plagioclase, and usually accessory mafic minerals: pyroxenes, amphiboles and biotite. It grades into granite with increasing quartz.
