CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines โ€” The number of crime incidents in Mimaropa in the first two weeks of the year has decreased by 30 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada, Mimaropa police director, attributed the decrease to intensified anti-crime operations and strengthened community collaboration.

Data from the Mimaropa police showed a total of 139 crime incidents were reported from Jan. 1 to 13, which is lower than the 200 incidents recorded during the same period last year.

A reduction of 64.10 percent was observed in eight focus crimes, with only 14 incidents reported this year compared to 39 last year.

Focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injuries, rape, theft, robbery, carnapping and motornapping.

Rape cases dropped by 92.31 percent; theft, 80 percent and physical injury, 33 percent, data showed.

โ€œThe crime drop highlights the dedication of our personnel, in partnership with our communities, and success of our intensified anti-crime campaign,โ€ Quesada said.
