Godot 4.4 is out as stable today for serving as the newest feature release to this leading open-source, cross-platform 2D/3D game engine.

Godot 4.4 is now available for game developers and it's a big step-up. Godot 4 continues evolving very nicely for making this a very competitive game engine not only among the limited open-source options but against the commercial game engines too. Some of the Godot 4.4 improvements include:

- Jolt Physics was available as an extension to the Godot game engine up until now, but for Godot 4.4+ the Jolt Physics code is integrated directly into this open-source game engine.

- Interactive in-game editing and other Godot Editor improvements. There is also now Android editor support for XR devices.

- Ubershader support to reduce stuttering.

- 3D physics interpolation support.

- AgX tone mapping support.

- A variety of performance optimizations and other refinements to the Godot 4 engine.

- Godot 4.4 on Linux now allows device camera support, complementing the prior macOS and iOS camera support.

- For .NET scripting support, Godot has been updated against .NET 8.0 support.

- Faster import support using the Betsy texture compressor.
