LXQt 2.2 was christened today as the newest stable update to this lightweight, open-source Qt desktop environment.

LXQt 2.2 builds off the Wayland support that has been worked on within prior LXQt releases. LXQt 2.2 brings better multi-screen support on Wayland, among other feature work to make the Wayland environment better supported while X11 continues to work just fine. The LXQt Wayland session will also continue working gracefully with all the latest stable versions of the different Wayland compositors it can be paired with.

LXQt 2.2 also brings support within PCManFM-Qt for custom options for terminals, fixes to QTerminal around text rendering, and support for PPD power profiles within LXQt Power Management.

The LXQt Archiver also now builds with 7-Zip by default, relies on 7z for handling RAR archives, and libqtxdg has been updated against the Qt 6.9 headers. LibFM-Qt also better handles drag-and-drop on the desktop with LXQt 2.2.
