With Mesa 25.2.1 recently having been released, the prior quarter's Mesa 25.1 series is now drawing to a close. Excellent Mesa release manager Eric Engestrom released Mesa 25.1.9 as one last point release for Mesa 25.1 before ending this branch.

There are a variety of different bug-fixes backported for this final Mesa 25.1 release. Some of the Mesa 25.1.9 changes include:

- Several RadeonSI Video Core Next (VCN) video fixes were back-ported. This includes fixing HEVC encode when running on old firmware, enabling an AV1 decode workaround for RadeonSI VA and RADV Vulkan Video on AMD GFX1153 graphics, and other fixes.

- RADV will only expose indirect ray-tracing on AMD GFX7 hardware and newer.

- Various Intel ANV Vulkan driver fixes, including some missing L3 cache flushes

- The Intel ANV driver adds a feature flag for linearly-tiled ASTC texture compressed images.

- Various other small driver fixes throughout.

The full list of Mesa 25.1.9 changes can be found via today's release announcement.

Mesa 25.2 is the current stable driver series for Q3'2025 while Mesa 25.3 is the version currently under development for Mesa and will debut as stable in November.
