Newer Arm Mali GPUs Now Advertising Vulkan 1.2 Support With Mesa's PanVK Driver

Following recent Vulkan 1.1 support within Mesa for the PanVK driver for open-source Arm Mali Vulkan driver support, Vulkan 1.2 is now being advertised.

Vulkan 1.2 is now being advertised by the PanVK driver for Arm Mali v10+ hardware, which is basically their Valhall 3rd gen architecture and newer. The code merged for Mesa 25.2-devel lists the Arm Mali G310, G610, G720, and G725 GPUs as being capable of Vulkan 1.2 rather than Vulkan 1.1 as previously exposed by the driver.

Erik Faye-Lund of Collabora elaborated in the commit bumping the support to Vulkan 1.2 for PanVK:
"While not yet officially conformant, we support all the required features, and we pass the CTS. Let's mark off Vulkan 1.2, to make things easier for applications."

While merged to Mesa Git for what will become Mesa 25.2 next quarter, the commit is also marked for back-porting to Mesa 25.1 that will see its stable release in May. The actual Arm Mali hardware itself is capable of Vulkan 1.3/1.4 and thus more work ahead before the PanVK driver is caught up with the hardware capabilities.
