AMD EPYC 4004 Benchmarks: Outperforming Intel Xeon E-2400 With Performance, Efficiency & Value
The higher core count SKUs help out a lot for CPU rendering workloads such as Blender 3D. The Xeon E-2488 fell behind the EPYC 4344P/4364P processors while the Intel CPU was consuming more power.
The proprietary V-RAY renderer also saw the EPYC 4344P/4364P processors delivering better performance than the Xeon E-2488. The Xeon E-2488 did deliver better power efficiency than the EPYC 4364P in this instance but was behind the EPYC 4344P and other EPYC 4004 SKUs.
Even with Intel's own OSPRay Studio software, the EPYC 8-core processors outperformed the 8-core Xeon E-2488.
With Embree as part of Intel's oneAPI software suite also saw the 8-core EPYC processors delivering better performance than the flagship Raptor Lake server processor.
