AMD EPYC 9755 Delivers Decisive Performance Leadership Over Xeon 6 Granite Rapids With Nearly 500 Benchmarks

The Xeon 6980P MRDIMM memory bandwidth advantage does help out for it in some HPC workloads.

But most often the AMD EPYC 9755 2P was delivering decisive performance leadership across these HPC workloads tested, including many new/updated benchmarks.

In some benchmarks the Xeon 6980P 2P performance is atrocious, which seems to be due to some single to dual socket scalability issues on the Granite Rapids side. There seem to be some Granite Rapids single to dual socket scalability issues not seen with AMD EPYC or prior Intel Xeon processors as much.

Granite Rapids with MRDIMM modules help out a lot in workloads like CP2K, AMG, HPCG, and HeFFTe.
