The OpenFOAM computational fluid dynamics software is one of the workloads that really performed great on the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and the Milan-X processors and was also the case for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. There was very nice uplift for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D over the Ryzen 9 7950X with OpenFOAM 10.

All the while the Ryzen 9 7950X3D was consuming less power than the Ryzen 9 7950X and especially the Core i9 13900K.

The ASKAP HPC benchmark is another workload that has traditionally benefited a lot from AMD 3D V-Cache.

For Zstd compression the large L3 cache of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D proved very beneficial to the performance.

The Zstd decompression performance though didn't benefit from the 3D V-Cache.
