For any CPU-based AI work, you would definitely want to pair the Threadripper PRO 9995WX with eight channel memory. When the 96 cores / 192 threads were fighting over four channel DDR5-6400 memory, there was too much contention with the likes of LocalScore / Llama.cpp that hindered the performance.
